Variables

Like any data-driven service, the TelXL platform relies on discrete 'chunks' of information that are collected, updated, and fetched on behalf of callers, administrators, Agents, third-party applications, and more. These chunks are known as Variables, since the data they contain can vary over the course of any call or session.

The majority of variable data is handled automatically, without need for intervention by end users. Certain variables, however, may be configured to collect optional data, which can then be used to influence the progress of a call. This might include details about the parties involved in the call, about the call itself, or about the system as a whole (for example, the local system time).

Instructions for working with variables can be found in numerous sections of this help portal, usually in relation to the features and tools that make use of them.
