This part of the process involves configuring the various numbers chosen for this service.
You should tick the Update button each time you make changes to a number's settings on this screen. Doing so will ensure the correct options and information are always displayed.
Implementation
- If your service has more than one number assigned, ensure each one is set to the correct type, then press Update.Understanding types of number for a service...
When a service has more then one number assigned, by default the top-most number will act as the primary one for the new service. This number has its own settings, which all other numbers in the service inherit. You can configure the remaining numbers to act as distinct services if needed, with or without separate settings.
Each number can be one of the following:
Number Type Description Part of service... Service settings are... Type A This number has its own settings A distinct service associated with this number. Bespoke for this number. Type B This will be set up as a duplicate of the service above A distinct service associated with this number.
Use this setting if you intend to create more than one identical service at the same time, then modify them later.
Duplicated from the nearest Type A number above it in the list. Type C This is an extra number for the service above That of the nearest Type A number above it in the list. Those of the nearest Type A number above it in the list, although the title may be changed if needed. All Type B and Type C numbers will clearly indicate the number of the service whose settings they inherit.
- If you want to re-order the chosen numbers, use the up and down arrow buttons to move any of them one step in the corresponding direction.
- To remove any number in this list, click the corresponding Remove button.
- For each number with its own service settings (Type A), use the fields provided to configure it.Configuring a number for a Blank IVR service...
- Title: This should be something meaningful to help identify the service throughout the system. A service's title can be changed later if necessary.
- Tariff: Select a suitable tariff with which to charge calls to this service.
- Enquiry Tariff: Select a suitable tariff with which to charge enquiry calls made within this service.
- Outbound Tariff: Select a suitable tariff with which to charge outbound calls from this service.
- Call Recording: Use the drop-down to select whether and how calls to this service should be audio-recorded.
- Failed Call Recording: Tick the check box if you want to be able to view a report detailing where calls to this service fail.
- Ensure you've clicked the Update button for each number you altered.
- Click Next to move on to the Billing tab.
