Licences

To be able to interact with chargeable features of the TelXL platform, individuals will need to claim an available Licence. Every Customer pays for a set of user licences, which are concurrent, meaning that they are claimed by any user logging into the system; when all available licences have been claimed by active users, no further users may log in until either someone frees up a licence by logging out, or additional licences are purchased to satisfy the excess requirements.

Two categories of licence are available to Customers, although both categories may be further divided into licence types according to the level of access each one provides:

  • Configuration Licences allow Agents to log into a configuration. The level of licence required to access a particular configuration is determined by what widgets have been added to that configuration. Typically, the more advanced a configuration, the higher the grade of licence required to operate it.

When provisioning licences, you can specify that they may be used for lower-grade operations where needed. The Customer will need to decide whether they want to allow the more expensive licences to be used in these circumstances.

  • API Licences are used to interact with the WebSocket API. Each active session requires one licence for its duration.

Any type of configuration licence can also be used to operate a WebSocket API session, if needed. As long as a Customer has a free configuration licence, they can use that with the API. API licences are cheaper, however, so consideration should be given to ensuring the correct type of licence is available whenever possible.
